| Cowboys escape season finale relatively healthy Even though they lost to the Redskins 27-6 in the season finale in Washington, the Cowboys returned to Dallas having accomplished one of their goals: Staying healthy. Every Cowboys player left the field in no worse condition than when they stepped on it for the opening kickoff. Backup safety and special teams captain Keith Davis did leave the game with a slightly sprained knee in the fourth quarter, but on Monday head coach Wade Phillips only described him as "banged up." Wide receiver Terry Glenn got knocked around a little bit, but Phillips said the abuse probably did more good for the 33 year-old receiver than harm. The fact that Glenn survived no worse for the wear just tells the Cowboys he'll be able to contribute in the playoffs. Starting center Andre Gurode and starting wide receiver Terrell Owens, will probably continue to rehab and receive treatment this week, but Phillips is confident that at least Gurode will be able to play in the Cowboys' first playoff game the second week of January. Owens is the bigger question mark since he was still walking in a boot Monday, and his absence in the game was noticeable. Dallas receivers had trouble getting open against the same secondary that gave up four touchdowns to Owens when the two teams met earlier in the season. Phillips said Owens is doing everything he can to be ready for the divisional round of the playoffs, but there is no telling if he will be game-ready in time. DallasCowboys.com - News
