Teams figure to call on Cowboys Garrett,Sparano

Having earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the Cowboys can expect next week to be relatively quiet – for most, anyway.
It could be a busy time for some of the team's assistant coaches, particularly offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and assistant head coach Tony Sparano.

Organizations can't prevent assistants from interviewing for head coaching vacancies, but the league has rules in place for teams looking to talk to coaches during wild-card weekend.
Because the Cowboys have a bye, interviews must take place before Jan. 6. With a two-week break between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl, an assistant can go through a second interview at a time and location that is acceptable to the coach's current employer.

Romo hopes to have a solution.
"We're going to try and go to the Super Bowl and win this thing," Romo said, "so they can't go anywhere, and teams have to lock up their positions before then."

They should do it like baseball, and no talks are permitted during the season at all. They should have to wait until after the superbowl.

I agree...There should be a Protocol for this...and teams should know better...if it was them, they would want to let their coaches concentrate on the tasks at hand...

By the same token...I fielded about a dozen head hunters call at work last month and I did not feel bad about it...

It means, they don't pay me enough and I am keeping my options open and fielding calls from prospective employers...that and LSC took the bigger office at GTG...

Well, this presents a problem for me. Phillips is the defense man but Garrett really has opened up that offense for me. We dont know what Garrett can do on defense. Remember Jones had Garrett in place before he hired Phillips, so I am thinking no.

Well, good luck. Hope you get what you want and deserve.

LSC hogs everything at GTG.
