| A different ending?????????? The Cowboys can debate all day whether Sunday's regular-season finale in Washington actually means anything or not. Some players in the locker room sound a bit split. While they all say they want to win the game, some have talked about playing it smart and making sure the team avoids any major injuries if possible. Whether the Cowboys make a full attempt to beat Washington or not, recent history suggests it might not matter anyway. The Cowboys have not won a regular-season finale this century. Not since 1999 have the Cowboys actually closed the regular season on a winning note. While the club has made the postseason in two of those years, the last regular-season game hasn't been good news for the Cowboys. And when it comes to something to play for, this year isn't much different. Sure, the Cowboys would like to get to 14-2, which would be the best regular-season record in franchise history. For now, it's only a step at a time. And the next step is to Washington, where the Cowboys can try to buck another trend. DallasCowboys.com - News
