Cory Procter admits he got a little too excited on his first snap as the Cowboys' starting center, resulting in the fumbled exchange with quarterback Tony Romo on the first play from scrimmage.
Other than the opening-play gaffe, Procter held his own against massive Panthers defensive end Kris Jenkins in his first career start in place of Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode, who was inactive with a sprained knee.
Procter and the offensive line didn't allow a sack on Romo and helped open holes for Marion Barber and Julius Jones, whose 135 rushing yards marked their second-highest combined total of the year.
