The Cowboys' running game became a virtual afterthought last Sunday against Philadelphia, when Marion Barber and Julius Jones tied a season low with 14 combined rushes for 48 yards. The duo matched that carry total by the 8:48 mark of the second quarter against Carolina, grinding out more balance to the offense in Saturday night's hard-fought 20-13 victory over Carolina.
Barber and Jones rushed a combined 31 times, their second-highest total of the season, for 135 yards. Barber was particularly effective with 110 yards on 22 carries (5.0-yard average), including a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The bruising back accounted for 63 of the Cowboys' 75 yards on that drive.
