You fools. You were all
so quick to call out Terrell Owens as a team cancer, a divisive locker-room presence, someone who can't stand not being in the spotlight, and who'll do anything -- no matter how treacherous -- to keep the media focus squarely on him.
You were all duped.
See, Owens may have had some not-so-nice things to say about quarterback
Tony Romo's new lady friend,
Jessica Simpson, but he was kidding. And to prove that the new-and-improved T.O. doesn't roll like that,
he offered to personally fix things:
"I tried to get [Romo] to call her so I can explain to her that she doesn't really know me and that I can be funny," Owens said. "And that everything I say, the media will take it and run with it. It's not a big deal. I will try to rectify the situation between her and I."
