| Cowboys get bye despite stunning loss to Eagles The Cowboys received their good news before Sunday's kickoff with the Eagles. After that, it was all downhill. The Cowboys had their worst showing of the season. Tony Romo struggled more than ever and was bothered by a thumb injury, although the X-rays after the game were negative. Terrell Owens was a non-factor with just two catches. And the defense just couldn't overcome the offensive woes. Romo's thumb contusion wasn't the only concern. Several key players, including starting center Andre Gurode, also sustained injuries. Add it all up, and the Cowboys saw their dreams of a 15-1 season wiped away by the Eagles, who beat them up 10-6 here at Texas Stadium. Despite dropping to 12-2, the Cowboys did clinch a first-round bye thanks to a Seattle (9-5) loss earlier in the day. But Green Bay also got to 12-2 with a 33-14 victory over St. Louis. The Cowboys hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Packers, but have little breathing room in the battle for home-field advantage. DallasCowboys.com - News
