| Fans put down $100 for a chance at season tickets A spot on Santa's list is free, but it'll cost Dallas Cowboys fans $100 to get on Jerry Jones' nice list. Fans can now pay a deposit – nonrefundable for most – to get on a waiting list to buy 2009 season tickets for the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington. Those deposits will help the Cowboys pay for the stadium's cost, which has risen as dramatically as the team's on-field fortunes. Mr. Jones casually mentioned Thursday that the official cost estimate for the retractable-roof stadium is now up to $1.1 billion after being stuck at $1 billion for about a year. Meanwhile there is still financial guesswork going on among the Cowboys' faithful. The people on the waiting list don't actually know how much season tickets would cost them since only some seat prices have been announced. Greg McElroy, the team's senior vice president of sales and marketing, said the online forms will allow fans to specify the general area where they want seats. So a fan requesting an upper-deck seat would get the deposit refunded if only the pricier lower-decks seats were available. Also, if all the seats are sold out, the people remaining on the waiting list would get refunds. The $100 would go toward the cost of the personal seat license or tickets.
