| Springing the trap With the Cowboys heading into Detroit with an 11-1 record and having beaten six teams with losing records, they obviously have not fallen susceptible to any of those so-called "trap games." For that, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo credits Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips. "He has an ability to get people ready to play at their highest level," Romo said. "The best thing he does is tell you without telling you." Romo said what Phillips told his 3-0 team leading up to the Week 4 game against the winless Rams is the best example how Phillips gets his point across without hammering everyone over the head. So Romo recounted the story, saying Phillips said, '"I want you guys to play this game as if they have a Pro Bowl quarterback. Oh wait, they do. '"So I want you to approach the game as if they have two Pro Bowl receivers. Wait, they do. '"Let's approach it like they have the best third-down percentage defense in the league. Wait, they do.' "So it was a great way of making his point without having to stomp on you all week, and all of a sudden, you knew right there we were in for a battle this week. I don't think you guys can talk enough about what he's done for this team." Thus, Romo dismissing the 11-1 Cowboys overlooking the 6-6 Lions who have lost four consecutive games.
