Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the $1.1 billion stadium he's building in Arlington, Texas, will give his club the most revenue in the 32-team National Football League.
The retractable-roof venue, to be built with a mix of public and private financing, has room for 80,000 people at regular-season NFL games and can be expanded to hold 100,000. It's scheduled to open for the 2009 season. ``It will put us at the top of the NFL in revenue,'' Jones, 65, said in an interview. ``We haven't been there for the past four or five years.''
Since NFL teams share more than $3.7 billion a year from the sale of national television rights, along with some gate receipts, money from a stadium's premium seats, amenities and corporate sponsors is one of the few ways for clubs to retain expanded revenue.
