| Fans mail to Mickey Spagnola These are things that are of interest to fans in Mickey's mail column. I like reading his work. What, no big, overblown stories of Terrell Owens' return to Philadelphia this week? Usually a very big topic, but with Tony Romo's extension and the "Super" game going on in Indy, seems to be kind of laying low. Kind of like it that way! Mickey: Oh, there have been stories about Owens and Donovan McNabb throughout the week here and in Philadelphia, but you are right, just hasn't taken on the national attention last year's game did. Guess it's old news when it's the second time. My guess is, it won't be old news once the Cowboys arrive at The Linc. Eagles fans have a strange way of never forgetting a thing, so my guess is things will really be spiced up once Owens hits the field. Good to know the football game is taking precedence Are you worried at all about Tony Romo supposedly partying with Britney Spears and out at a club on his bye week? I mean I just couldn't fathom quarterbacks like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning doing anything else on their bye week but studying and resting. Mickey: Or one of them having a baby out of wedlock or anything like that, right? What, you think every successful quarterback is an overgrown Boy Scout? Did not Troy Aikman date a bunch of famous country singers? Come on, do you base all your decisions on tabloid and scandal-sheet reports? So Romo went to LA on the weekend. So Spears ran into him. You don't know anything more than that. Edward, were you young once, and did that totally distract you from your job? I think we be making much ado about very little. Last year the Cowboys finally made the change at quarterback mid-season and now we have a star in Romo. Why are they fumbling around with switching Marion Barber and Julius Jones? We need teams to fear the running game early so we can relax those double teams on Terrell Owens. Mickey: So let me get this straight: Teams only double Owens when Jones is in the game, but not when Barber's in the game? That what you're telling me? Teams fear the Cowboys' running game because they know Jones has the ability to burn them on long runs. In fact, early in the season, teams were jamming the line of scrimmage to stop the run and taking their chances with the passing game. Just remember, while Barber's running style is effective and serves a purpose, speed kills. DallasCowboys.com - News
