Notes and news on Cowboys

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is entering perhaps the most critical stretch of his career against three straight NFC East opponents, starting Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent last week's bye resting a slightly strained hamstring - which feels fine, by the way. Yet his first question from reporters upon returning from a three-day weekend pass was this: Are the reports true that you partied with pop princess Britney Spears in Hollywood?
"She was at the same place," said Romo, who did spend part of his bye weekend relaxing in Los Angeles. "I wasn't partying with her, that's for sure."

The Cowboys didn't move a collective muscle over the weekend, yet found themselves leading the NFC in both offense and defense Monday morning.
The Cowboys maintained their No. 2 ranking in total offense in the NFL (402.0 yards per game) and jumped to No. 6 in total defense (295.9) after the previously fifth-ranked Redskins allowed 486 yards in a 52-7 loss to New England.

Romo said the NFL fined him $5,000 for sliding into a Vikings defender while attempting to avoid a hit last Sunday. Ironically, Romo strained his hamstring on that play. The NFL accused him of trying to block below the waist after an on-field change of possession .

it's good to see a running back like Barber using vicious straight arms again. I actually thought it was a lost art until seeing him let loose with some good shots recently...
