| Leonard Davis world's highest paid football player The highest-paid football player in the world is Cowboys guard Leonard Davis. How can this be? Well, according to Forbes.com, Davis earned $25.4 million between June 2006 to June 2007 that places him 19th on the top 25 list of the highest-paid athletes in the world. Tiger Woods tops the list, earning $100 million. However, the financial numbers Forbes.com has might short-change Davis. He earned a total salary of $9.319 million from the Arizona Cardinals last season. When Davis left the team via free agency, he signed with the Cowboys for a franchise-record $16 million this spring. Davis receives a base salary of $1 million. Davis also earned a workout bonus of $6,720. His total NFL compensation package from June 2006 to June 2007 is $26,325,720. Davis also received roughly $100,000 from NFL endorsement deals.
