| Barber keeps all at arm's length For the most part, Marion Barber doesn't play favorites. Whether it's defenders trying to bring him down in the open field, or reporters in the locker room looking for a sound bite, the Cowboys running back usually treats them all the same. He keeps his distance. Now Barber doesn't exactly use that punishing stiff-arm, which might even be described as a flying punch, to the media. But he's certainly not comfortable standing in front of cameras and holding court. But the third-year back made a rare media appearance on Wednesday as the Cowboys returned to practice for two days before getting the bye weekend off.Barber has used either the traditional stiff-arm or sometimes a wild open-handed swat to defenders to prevent a tackle and pick up extra yards. "It's either hit, or be hit," Barber said. "It's just that physical aspect of my game that has always been with me." He weaved through the fast-growing huddle of reporters with ironically the same technique he gets away from defenders. "It's just a regular-stiff arm," said Barber, who mimicked the move to a few cameramen as he jokingly eased his way out of the pack. DallasCowboys.com - News
