| Underwood/Romo romance doomed "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood has revealed she and sportsman Tony Romo were doomed as a couple, because he refused to put her above his first love, football. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback and the country singer briefly dated earlier this year, but the romance ended when Romo was criticized for paying too much attention to his personal affairs. Underwood tells Entertainment Weekly, "He is about football. ... I don't think he's at the point in his life where he would be willing to sacrifice football. But, despite the split, Underwood insists she's still cheering him on from the sidelines. She explains, "The Cowboys are still my favorite team." | Re: Underwood/Romo romance doomed Did Romo ask her to pay less attention to her musical career? I seriously doubt it. Then how could she possibly think that a quarterback for the highest profile team in the NFL would pay less attention to football, especially one who has finally landed a starting job? Tony, lay off the blondes for a while.
