| Patriots far too funky Beaten. Badly. No ifs, ands or buts. Patriots an uncalled for 48, Cowboys 27. "The funk hit the fan," Cowboys linebacker Bradie James said. The funk, the offense, the defense, the special teams, the schemes, the strategy, you name it. ....the Patriots outscored the Cowboys, 17-3, though the final touchdown with 19 seconds remaining was smugly unnecessary, once again Patriots head coach Bill Belichick thumbing his nose at the rest of the league. "That last score," James said, "I couldn't believe that." Only thing that was lost here was one game, and that's all it counts as, one game. So don't start pulling hair out by the roots. "This is not a six-game season," James said. "It's a 16-game season . . . this one game doesn't define our season. "It's not Game 17. It's Game 6." Plenty of time to get the funk out of the fan.
