Greg Ellis's return on Sunday not a miraculous cure

Even though Greg Ellis is not 100% recovered yet, he was motivated to get on the field for the first time this season by a financial boost given by the Cowboys on Saturday.
His reconstructed contract guarantees next year's salary in the form of a bonus. It was the security Ellis had been asking for since last April when the Cowboys drafted linebacker Anthony Spencer in the 1st round.
In this game of chicken, Ellis won. He wasnt ready to return until he got security because he felt the Cowboys would cut him if he didnt play well. He wasnt going to risk further injury without some form of financial boost and wanted the Cowboys to show they valued his services and the only way to do that was with money.
Ellis gave the Cowboys an instant return on their investment with 1.5 sacks in 15 plays and 3 quarterback pressures.

Cool Re: Greg Ellis's return on Sunday not a miraculous cure

This is huge for the Cowboys. After Ellis got hurt last year, the Cowboys pass rush and entire defense went down the tubes.
