Apparently this guy hasn't learned since the interview he gave in the middle of the '05 season in which he said the Eagles would have been undefeated with Brett Favre as the quarterback instead of Donovan McNabb. Though he said he wanted to be careful with his response, T.O. still wound up sticking his foot in his mouth. This time, it was answering 10 questions for Time Magazine:

If you could choose any quarterback in the NFL to be the No. 1 in Dallas, who would it be and why? Patrick McLeod, PANAMA CITY Man, that's a tricky question. I don't want to cause trouble ... O.K., I would say Peyton Manning, then Donovan McNabb. Peyton has history on his side, with his dad being a quarterback, and you can't say enough about how studious he is in the film room.

still, the fact he said mcnabb? After hes dogged mcnabb, ummm o.k..If he was wise he woulda stuck romo 2nd atleast c'mn..

Can't figure this guy out at all. First he said he wants Favre over McNabb, now he says Manning and McNabb are his top two choices? I can only guess one thing from this comments - someone showed him a video of how poorly Brett Favre's actually been playing lately!

Well, for a change the quote was accurate, but it most certainly was blown up into something it wasnt. If he had said Romo first what would everyone have said then. Personally I like Tony but if I had my druthers right now, I'd pick one of the others two. Like was mentioned before, of course you would go with a proven. He was not putting Tony down.
If you check out the following link, he talks about how he was sorry how things turned out with McNabb and how much he learned from him. How he wished he would have done things differently.
He was trying to answer the question honestly but he knew there would be trouble. He couldnt ignore the question. I tell you, T.O. is a changed man.

See now both TO and Manning started for three GTG Fantasy winning teams last year, so of course it's a good combo...

Still, I am suprised that he has McNabb #2...but why is this a slam on Romo?...come on now...if he takes Romo then he is a liar...if he doesn't he is dissing his QB?...writers need a life outside of TO world...

exactly manning is no suprise, but c'mn hes dissed mcnabb left and right, why do you think he left the eagles, and now all of a sudden theyre pen pals and hes his 2nd favorite qb? I just think mentioning romo atleast 2nd would give him extra boost for the season..but hey that would be too logical..

TO shoots from the hip...it's classic TO...and I think Romo has enough sense to realize that. He can be self motivated and say, "hey I am going to prove the guy wrong"...and go out there...not get distracted by American Idol girl...and win some games. Get himself some repsect.

T.O is from tennesse so I have alittle bit of love for him but the man needs to have a script for every interview he does..

everyone does speak theyre mind, t.o just doesnt have any common sense and speaks too quickly..I will give you the media does harp on his every word so they can report things but he doesnt help..

He said he was sorry for the way things worked out with McNabb. He didnt say he was his 2nd favorite quarterback. He said McNabb was his second pick for a quarterback. There's a diff there. He was trying to be honest even though he knew people would take it wrong. He wasnt trying to start trouble. He's changed (at least trying if people will let him). Over and over again I have heard him say, "We are all human. We all make mistakes. Everyone deserves another chance." I totally agree with him.
