| Health Scare for the Cowboys Injuries are starting to take their toll, even though the Cowboys havent had a bad one yet. But there are a few question marks on the injury front surrounding this team with the season opener less than two weeks away. Head Coach Phillips seems confident that cornerback Terence Newman and linebackers Greg Ellis and Kevin Burnett can be ready for the Giants' game. Kicker Martin Gramatica wont be ready for two weeks even if he remains on the roster. The Cowboys have been without wide receiver Terry Glenn and rookie offensive tackle Doug Free for most of training camp and preseason, but Phillips says he expects both to return to practice Saturday. As for Newman, he isnt so sure he will be making it back. "My foot is about the same, its not getting better yet. Its something that is probably going to bother me all year. But there are things we can do to limit the pain. Right now, there is no way I can plant on my foot." Cowboys still consider Ellis day to day, but sent him to see Dr. James Andrews, an orthopedic specialist, for a second opinion. DallasCowboys.com - News
