Newman likely to miss rest of preseason

Cornerback Terence Newman's strained right heel will likely force him to miss the rest of the preseason Coach Phillips said Thursday.
Newman sat out last weekend's game against Denver with what the team said was a bruised right heel. Phillips said Tuesday he thought Newman was fine and would return to practice this week, but the injury has been upgraded to a strain, casting doubt as whether he will be ready for the season opener against the Giants September 9.

Yeesh, not real good news even though they played well without him last week.
