| Playmaker brings the house down Michael Irvin was the last speaker of the night at the Hall of Fame induction and for 25 minutes he held the audience's attention just as he did so many times before on the field. Without any notes and speaking from the heart, he talked of his relationships with his teammates, and the closeness between his family and the family of Jerry Jones. He spoke of Jerry Jones as a father figure. Jones was his presenter that night.
Then came the performance of his life. With tears streaming down his face, he admitted his faults and told how he prayed for strength. Strength to raise his sons to be a better husband to some young lady than he was to his wife, and to be a better father than he was to his sons. He left not a dry eye in sight as he shared what he learned in life.
He said "Life goes on, look up."
"Keep getting up."
"Dont ever quit."
There are currently 241 inductees in the Hall of Fame. |
