Greg Ellis throws in towel

Greg Ellis gave in on the stalled contract talks and is no longer complaining. Jones wouldnt budge on the contract issues and for Ellis it was either retire or play.
Ellis says,"It was never about the money. It was about committment."
He was ready to retire until a call came from former safety Darren Woodson. Woodson told Ellis that if he still loved to play, then play.
Phillips is happy to hear it because he says Ellis brings a lot to the defense in leadership and wisdom.

So he's going to play, then? At first when you said he was throwing in the towel, I assumed he was retiring.

How much does he left in the tank?

Pretty tricky, huh? I got you to read it.
I am thinking maybe not a whole lot or Dallas would be quicker to work with him on this. He has had some injuries. I think what they really like is his leadership with that young defense.

I think he has plenty left if they spell him from time to time. What was he?...selected in the 98 draft?
