| Greg Ellis trade demands According to the Dallas Morning News, "Cowboys outside linebacker Greg Ellis, unhappy with his current status and unable to get a meeting with Jerry Jones to discuss it, wants to be traded, released or have his contract restructured.... Ellis said that Jones, the Cowboys' owner and general manager, had planned to meet with him, but changed his mind. Ellis said he was disappointed to learn of this through the media." Jones says he doesn't meet with players under contract, and apparently Ellis wants more money because he's afraid first-round pick Anthony Spencer is going to take his spot in the starting lineup.

| Ellis pulled the same thing last year, holding out of mini camp, but the bottom line was, he had no leverage. I'll say this. The Cowboys may want to consider doing something for the guy to make him happy. After he went down for the year last year, the Cowboys pass rush disappeared off the face of the map. That, more than anything, led to the Cowboys terrible defenisve play in the second half of the season. Their defensive ends had a total of 2 sacks and their linebackers couldn't get to the QB, either. |

| Re: Greg Ellis trade demands Yeah, afterwards, I remembered that. He's getting older and not real sure of things anymore. Its true what you said about the Cowboys' defense after he went down, but maybe Spencer will fill the hole nicely. |
