IRVING, Texas -- Terrell Owens once again caught some of his Dallas Cowboys teammates and coaches off guard.

But instead of stirring controversy off the field, Owens surprised them by participating in the team's first minicamp.


The wide receiver has been recovering from two offseason surgeries on his right ring finger. New Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said earlier in the week that Owens would not practice in the team's first gathering since he replaced Bill Parcells in February.


"I'm surprised but I can understand why he wanted to come out here," Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones said. "He got caught up in the enthusiasm of being with the team, the excitement we've got about our team. I'm sure he just wanted to go ahead and catch some passes."

i dont think i have been anywhere near as critical of TO as i have been of Vick and Williams

with williams i have no time for anyone that chooses pot over anything, what a loser ....... with Vick i question his talent at QB

i dont think i have ever questioned TO's talent .... some see him as currently the best receiver in the NFL, i dont, i see him as top 5 but not #1

as you say, Vader wasnt really that bad ....... and i can agree it wasnt his fault (as it isnt your fault here) ..... Vader had his power thrust upon him by the Emperor before he was ready (just as our Emperor Ross has thrust power upon you)

Like I've said before, I will always have room for the guy who gets me 12-13 Tds a year...I wonder what a properly motivated and fit Owens will do this year now that he has time with Romo as QB...I expect another dozen scores from the guy.
