Cool Bob Hayes or Dieon Sanders?

Who would you rather have returning kicks on the all-time Cowboys Team, Bob Hayes or Dieon Sanders?

Cool Re: Bob Hayes or Dieon Sanders?

I never saw Bob Hayes play. The only thing I remember from his career is the famous film clip of him sitting on the sidelines freezing his butt off at the Ice Bowl - his breath practically freezing in mid-air.

Bob Hayes, only man to win Olympic gold and a Super Bowl ring. I'll take him anyday over Sanders.

Average 20 yards a punt return one year (Cowboy record)...and was fast enough to make the D give up on the notion of man to man. Stocky player...at first had poor hands...did not have the moves of a Sanders...but could fly...seen the clips of his 1964 Tokyo 400 meter realy...takes the baton in 6th 10 yards behind the leader...wins going away by 5...I think his 100 meter split was timed in under 9 seconds!!! (running start)...just amazing speed...though in pads Sanders was the fastest I have seen in the last 20 years...

Re: Bob Hayes or Dieon Sanders?

With all due to respect to Dieon Sanders in this era of football; he couldn't hold Bob Hayes jockstrap. I know, a rather lude and blunt opinion, but let me elaborate. Bob Hayes played in an era when the rules were much less player protection oriented. The players of today are also missing three paramount qualities to play team sports. One is true passion for the game, two is a true team spirit, and three is true toughness. The players of today do not have the mental, emotional, or physical toughness. This is self evident in the high payed salaries and the constant whining, complaining, and I gotta have the ball all the time attitude. Take it or leave it but that's what it is in a nut shell. My opinion like it or not. Go BEARS in the Super Bowl! Sincerely Hugh
