Parcels On The Hotseat

ok, this Dallas team is looking like a train wreck

the O-line is dismal and the running game isnt doing so well

people begged for Romo and when they got him he promtly lost the game for them

many tough games ahead this year

what happens if once again Dallas fails to make the play-offs ?

can Jerry possibly fire Bill ?

Bill just doesnt seem to have a handle on the team right now

Re: Parcels On The Hotseat

Let me answer those one at a time,

1) is it a train wreck? - depends on who you talk to, the defense isn't that bad offense is a differnt story

2) The O Line is dismal and the running game is not doing so well - No kidding but it's more of a O line issue then it is a running backs issue

3) People begged for Romo and when they got him he promtly lost the game for them - wrong the game was all ready lost, Romo did nothing but come in for Bledsoe who Parcells had enough of

4) Many tough games ahead this year - none to this point have been easy so what makes you think it's been so easy?

5) What happens if once again Dallas fails to make the playoffs? - they go
back to square 1 and look at what went wrong, it's all ready clear O line is
the biggest issue. Watkins (rookie) saftey is learning but not sure how much more he will see the starting line up

6) Can Jerry possibly fire Bill? - At this point no, nobody is ready to be the
interm head coach. after the season is done then yes, but doubtful only b/c Jerry is not gonna let Bill walk away like that, Jerry is more smart then
to pull a Bob Kraft on Parcells. When the time is right Parcells steps down
gracefuly and Jerry searches for the next head coach

7) Bill just dosn't seem to have a handle on the team right now - I disagree
he has a great handle on the team. he's all ready shown one veteran he is
expendable, and that by no means is any player safe on the roster. but like
a stone faced poker player, Parcells isn't losing poise and showing his hand
Parcells knows what he is doing no worries

Re: Parcels On The Hotseat

Hi TexasCowboy, welcome to GoTeamsGo.

Great 1st post

The O line is a big part of the problem but I wasn't impressed with Romo. I know he's not got game experience and he's not had the # of snaps in practice that a starter gets... but he looked like an unimpressive rookie making rookie mistakes. He did not look like a guy that's been on the Cowboys payroll for 4 years. I was really expecting more from him. The 3 true freshman QB's from this year's draft all look better than Romo did.

The team moved the ball but how much more time & experience does Romo need until he can help the team win?

Hope to hear more from you about the Cowboys & whatever other sports you follow.

Sure he did, and inexperience can catch up with a vengence if your not
careful, and for as many people who knock Bledsoe. alot of the mistakes
both in last nights game and in previous games. has been O line issues
where blocking was key to giving him time, how ever it doesn't mean
that in situations like in last nights games. Bledsoe held on to it for to
long and got nailed for the sack. certain things Bledsoe is responsible
for, such as protecting the ball, not fumbling when hit and throwing it
away when nobody is open. Those things Bledsoe has failed to do, But
I am still not convinced Romo is the answer or the future of the Cowboys

Cool Re: Parcels On The Hotseat

Welcome To GoTeamsGo TexasCowboy. I agree with almost all of your assessment. But I believe that Parcells will step down after this year. Watching him on the sidelines last night, I get the feeling that he's had enough.

I think Parcells deserves blame for not drafting an offensive lineman with 1 of his 2 first round picks. Instead he opted for Bobby Carpenter when the Cowboys already had plenty of linebackers and the biggest head scratcher was drafting Anthony Fasano when they already had Jason Witten.

I couldn't believe how the Giants pass rushers were just coming in untouched.

Nope...Romo is not the answer...at least not any time soon...the kid is raw...and for every bonehead mistake Drew makes, he will make two.

Re: Parcels On The Hotseat

I think he should be blamed for not taking a lineman in the first round, but I
think Bill is all ways eager to fix mistakes and move on. and right now he's
not gonna be able to fix the line issues, unless some major trade happens
and the best lineman become available. but it's never a mistake he makes
twice. look at the 2004 season. fans complained Dallas didn't spend the
money on players. Dallas went 6-10 and the next year they spent like
crazy, sadly injuries and bad kicking put them out of the post season
but they managed to improve they're record, and had a much better
showing. 06 maybe that way poor showing better showing and much
stronger in 2007, Where Parcells can atleast fix the mistakes instead
of having his hands tied

Re: Parcels On The Hotseat

Jones won't fire Parcells. Instead, Bill will quit. It would be to Jerry's advantage to let Bill quit rather than have to buy him out of the last year of his contract.

I agree and for every dumb mistake Bledsoe makes, Romo may make one less
mistake, but they are still mistakes regardless of how many times it happens
