T.O., McNabb at odds again

Days before the buddies-turned-enemies face off for the first time since their nasty breakup, a misunderstanding is brewing over a text message McNabb says he sent Owens last week after a trip to the hospital was reported as an attempted suicide.

Owens said Wednesday he never got it. While he stopped short of calling McNabb a liar, the sour look on his face sure seemed to insinuate it.

Asked later if it was possible McNabb sent the message to an old phone number, Owens said: "Look, I'm not trying to start anything. He's a smart guy. If he wanted my number, he could've gotten it."

Earlier Wednesday, in separate interviews with reporters in Philadelphia and on a conference call with reporters in Dallas, McNabb said he reached out to Owens to "let him know that I was thinking about him praying for him," adding that he hoped "everything would turn out well and that he'd get back out on the field and be healthy."

What's that old Whitesnake song? "Here I Go Again" I believe. That should be Terrell Owen's theme song! Any doubts that this guy is a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket now?

????...how is this a TO story...and not a McNabb and TO story? I swear if the guy takes a crap...three TV Stations would cover it, and we would all comment on it...

Well, if the guy wasn't a complete nutjob there would be nothing to report.

No, I hear what Gotham's saying here -- why are we so quick to give McNabb a pass when something like this happens? Most people tend to roll their eyes and say, "Well, there's T.O. being T.O. again..." when it looks for all intents and purposes that Donovan could well be the one stirring the pot and providing misinformation here. Maybe he's trying to keep Owens unfocused and under the media blitz until after the game on Sunday, hmm?

C'mon the guy doesn't need another enabler.

I can't tell you how sick I am of everybody reporting on T.O. This McNabb storyline is well over a year old now and is still a top story. Can we just let them play football for a few weeks and ease up on the coverage. I now turn ESPN when they start a TO report. He is a fun topic to discuss, but there are other stories out there.

This is nothing more than the media creating something out of nothing. They are shameless.

Might as well gather in the school yard, circle the two big kids and keep urging them to fight...only to split when the big bad principal comes out...as if the crowd had little to do with the fight. The media is no better.

Re: T.O., McNabb at odds again

the media feeds into it for sure, adding fuel to the fire

but, as we have seen, TO will do most anything to keep his name in print

whats he gonna do when he retires to stay in the papers ?

Dancing With The Stars ?

You know what I would really like to see is the sports media cover sporting events. Not this tabloid garbage.
