On his way to a league-leading 20 sacks last season, linebacker DeMarcus Ware had five sacks after five games. He has only two this season, both of which came in the Dallas Cowboys’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago.
Ware has played the past three games with a stress fracture in his left foot. An MRI last week discovered the stress fracture, which Ware thought was merely a sore foot.
Though Ware’s two sacks through five games are the fewest of his career, tying his 2006 total after five games, Ware said his foot injury is not to blame.
Ware also took a blow to the head in the season opener and has had a neck injury this season. Ware said the injury should be fully healed in two weeks.
