| SS: do you really think that Dallas can put up 27 pts on Jacksonville's defense? Jacksonville has a very physical defense and the Cowboys have a brand new offensive line. I think the 'Boys will be good this year but this is a tought spot. |

but Beldsoe and Glenn looked great in the preseason, and we all know what Owens can do if the Jags try and double Owens, Glenn should have a big game |

| Re: Week One: Dallas @ Jacksonville The Dallas OFfense of line looked horrible against the Vikings in the last pre-season game...They were getting out blocked and Julius Jones was going no where... I doubt they can handle the Jags... Being a Cowboy fan and having TO on a few fantasy teams, I am still sticking with the 'Boys...but this team has issues. |

| Re: Week One: Dallas @ Jacksonville Got this from the Sporting New's. ![]() ![]() Dallas has the firepower on offense, a relentless defense and a coach who knows what it takes to win. Dallas' first test comes against one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL. Jack Del Rio's Jaguars are ready to prove that last year's 12-4 record was no fluke. Both teams field strong defenses that could carry them to the playoffs, but the difference in this game will be offense. For the Jaguars, has Byron Leftwich built enough chemistry with his young receivers to replace what he had in the retired Jimmy Smith? At the age of 30, can running back Fred Taylor stay healthy and carry the load or are his best days behind him? For the Cowboys, will the new two-tight end offense of Jason Witten and Anthony Fasano bring back memories of Mark Bavaro and Zeke Mowatt? Can Julius Jones stay healthy? Cowboys Keys For Success 1. Protect Drew Bledsoe. Bledsoe is a classic pocket passer who is at his best when he can survey the field, step up in the pocket and get a full follow through on his throws. If he can't step into his throws, the ball sails and bad things happen. Age and durability are concerns. The problem: Bledsoe is immobile and holds the ball too long. Dallas will try to establish a running game to setup play-action opportunities. To negate Jacksonville's good pass rush, look for Dallas to use quick reads, crossing patterns over the middle and plenty of outlet routes to the two tight ends, especially Witten. 2. Jam the Jaguars' receivers. Jacksonville's base offense is one back and three receivers. The formation forces opponents to use nickel personnel and attempts to create size mismatches outside. The Jaguars' top three receivers are big -- Matt Jones is 6-6, Ernest Wilford 6-4 and Reggie Williams 6-4 - but each struggles to get open against press coverage. Jones is the only one who can stretch the field vertically, and Parcells knows it. Dallas must hide its biggest weakness -- the safeties' lack of coverage skills -- by having cornerbacks Terence Newman and Anthony Henry jam the outside receivers and roll a safety over top of Jones. ![]() |
