UConn sophomore Terence Jeffers, the Huskies' leading receiver last season, told coach Randy Edsall Saturday he plans to transfer.
Jeffers (44 catches, 582 yards, five touchdowns in 2007) told Edsall he was underutilized in the Huskies' offense, according to a source. UConn (9-4) ran almost 60 percent of the time last season.
Jeffers (6 feet 2, 211 pounds), from Lawrenceville, Ga., has not decided on a school, but is considering Vanderbilt. If he transfers to another Division I-A school, he must sit out a year.
