UConn self-reports 17 minor NCAA violations

The University of Connecticut self-reported 17 minor NCAA violations in its three marquee sports over the last five years, the Hartford Courant reported Saturday.
The women's basketball program reported seven "secondary" violations, the men's basketball team six, and the football team three. One violation was shared by women's basketball and football.

"That strikes me as not a high number of cases," Vermont Law School professor and sports law analyst Michael McCann told the Courant. "On one level it makes UConn look good because it shows they are handling and recording everything, including things that a typical person wouldn't think are a big deal."
