Theo Ruth, D 19 years old, 6-1, 199 pounds Naperville, IL) Acquired from Washington for Sergei Fedorov on Feb. 26, 2008 Ruth has tallied one assist and has a +2 plus/minus rating in two games with Notre Dame following his return from the World Junior Championships. He has tallied two goals and one assist for three points, along with a +6 plus/minus rating in 19 games for the Fighting Irish. The freshman currently has four goals and three assists in 17 games. He is tied for fifth in goals and 11th in points for Boston College. Matthew Calvert, LW 19 years old, 5-9, 164 pounds (Brandon, MB) Columbus' fifth round choice, 127th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft Calvert has scored a goal and has four assists for five points in five games played since the start of 2009 for the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL). He is currently ranked sixth in goals, assists and points for the Wheat Kings Andrey Plekhanov, D 22 years old, 6-1, 187 pounds (Nizhnekampsk, Russia) Columbus' fifth pick, 96th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft Plekhanov scored the lone goal of the game for the Syracuse Crunch last Friday in a 3-1 loss to the Rochester Americans. The goal was Plekhanov's second goal of the season. In 32 games for the Crunch the defenseman has tallied two goals and seven assists for 12 points The Blue Jackets are already rolling with some solid rookies this year...but down the road, I like Ruth...and I guess one of the two 5-9 wingers is not bad...but how can you have two?
