| Commodore signs w/CBJ The Blue Jackets have signed free agent defenseman Mike Commodore to a five-year contract worth $18.75 million, The Dispatch has learned. That's a cap hit of $3.75 million per season.

Commodore, 28, is known as one of the NHL’s most physical defensemen, using his 6-foot-5, 232-pound frame to matchup well against opponent’s top lines.
He’s played seven seasons in the NHL with New Jersey, Calgary, Carolina and Ottawa. Last season, splitting time between Carolina (41 games) and Ottawa (26), he had 3 goals, 11 assists and a minus-7 rating to go with 100 penalty minutes. |
