In the first game of the 2006 Simulated Playoffs (using the 2003-04 rosters...sorry...no new ones yet)...the Leafs Demolish the Blue Jackets 9-3 at in front of their home fans....


Though off to a 2-0 lead early, any hope The Blue Jackets had evaporated in the 3rd period when the Leafs tallied 5 goals...David Vyborny was the lone Columbus bright spot talling 2 goals ...things got so bad for Goalie Marc Denis that he was yanked in favored of Pascal LeClaire at the start of the 3rd period...LeClaire proved he was not ready for the big times and gave up an additional 4 goals...

Our boys toyed with the Columbus Blue Jackets in a tune up game for the rest of the playoff's.

When asked about the win, team captain Mats Sundin had this to say, "When we score that often we usually win." Mats added, "if we keep winning games we will win the series."

Sundin scored two goals for the team, and flipped the the second hockey puck into the stands to a girl in Leaf blue and white who was seen doing a "Happy Dance."

The series resumes in Columbus on Sunday.

Maybe this is where i need to come clean on my "simulated" affair with Mats.

You know, i thought he looked at me when we were at the Ottawa game.

Jackets fell apart. They let Domi score. They let Berg assists TWICE. That joey nieuwendyk is the frosting on our cake, man. We should hang onto him FOREVER.
Goalie trouble for you, GDK. Thank God we have belfour.

Two ships that passed in the night blueandwhite girl...two ships...that's all that was...and speaking of ships ...darn it!...you sank our battleship on this one!...We were up 2-0!...and what a goal that was by Vyborny!...did you see it?...the guy out races Sundin to the puck...fakes Berg out of his shorts...goes top shelve on Belfour...Eddie didn't even see it...I mean I like Eddie...but man...on that goal he looked 50...

Hey, I don't think you are going to get so lucky on Sunday....

Tucker was noticeably quiet - must be nursing that sore black eye from the last game of the season, after that ugly elbow from the big mean Mike peca. My favourite goal? The Nolan onbe, caught on the rebound (too many ugly rebounds, Columbus-tsk tsk).

Peca blind sided him...I mean it was a cheap shot...I am suprise that he only drew a two game suspension and a $5,000 fine...look its okay to throw the elbow....but give me a break!...He did it in the freakin men's room right before the game...the little worm...bet he don't try it out in the ice...

...yeah, Nolan's was nice...caught the puck in mid air too...darn it...look, Denis did all he could do on that one...I mean he went from the right post...diving to the left...he hurt himself, that's why he left right after...

And yeah with a K...Don't want it to say...Gotham Dark Night...I mean, yeah this is a Dark Night after this lose and all...but...anyway, thanks...tell Mats is nothing personal...got to root against him in this one...

No, its a web site that has a sim function...we have mentioned in a thread by Wedge before...you pick the teams, and the season (unfortunately hockey has the 03-04 rosters), Home/Away, Regular Season/Playoff...and staring Goalies...then the game does its thing...
