COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Sergei Fedorov's one-timer 35 seconds into overtime gave the Columbus Blue Jackets a 5-4 victory over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.

It was Fedorov's 14th career overtime goal, tying Mats Sundin for the NHL record.

Okay, sure...Dallas rested many players...but Columbus has taken out the Wings and the Stars late in the season...the team has been looking rather good in the closing months...and hey, Fedorov joins the good company of Sundin...what more can you ask for...and yes, Stinger we can ask for a championship caliber goalie...its been noted.

Playoff-bound Dallas rested many of its top players. But the Stars still scored three times in three-and-a-half minutes to grab a 4-to-3 lead early in the third period.

A pair of Dallas penalties then gave Columbus a two-man advantage. The Blue Jackets pulled their goalie to make it a six-on-three and tied it on Mark Hartigan's one-timer from the point with less than a minute left.

Jamie Pushor and Trevor Letowski also scored for the Blue Jackets. Niko Kapanen, Steve Ott, Niklas Hagman and Bill Guerin had goals for Dallas.
Columbus finishes the season with a franchise-record 74 points.

Also the fact that once agian we had to come from behind, can't be over looked...and yes, yes, the Star rested players...got it...still a franchise record 74 points to end season on a high note...

I was watching the scoreboard on that - the jackets are on fire. Parallels with them and the leafs are numerous come end of season (could we have asked for it in january or is that just too much?).
Maybe they'll burn up the golf course.
