COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets signed defenseman Rostislav Klesla, the team's first draft pick, to a four-year contract Tuesday.

Klesla has played in 253 games with the Blue Jackets and has 20 goals and 46 assists. The 24-year-old set career highs for goals (six) and assists (13) this season in 51 games. He also averaged a career-best 21:26 of ice time.

So what's the lowdown on this kid Klesla? Good defenseman?

Hey now see... you're coming around ...unfortunately some call Klesla the worst 1st round pick the team has made...they did pass up some talent to get him...but he is a solid defender for them.

He is good all around player, more like Foward and Defense. He has been playing more defensive because we lack (just alittle) in this department, Adam Foote excluded. He stated that he would or will pack on 10 more pounds for next season which would make him even better as a defenseman.
Was scratched from tonights game though???! What gives...last game of the season and it was a great one! Defeated Dallas 5 to 4 in overtime.
