Re: Norrena leads Blue Jackets over Stars 3-2

Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock successful changed his shootout lineup and goaltender Fredrik Norrena stopped all three Dallas attempts to earn the Blue Jackets a 3-2 victory over the Stars on Friday night. The Blue Jackets have used David Vyborny to lead off four of their past five shootouts, but Hitchcock decided to go with Jason Chimera in the first round.
Chimera beat Stars goaltender Marty Turco for the only conversion by either team.
The Stars had been 6-3 in shootouts this season and 18-4 overall in the tiebreaker.
"We were joking that we better not get into a shootout," Chimera said. "But that was exciting.

See now, just when you thought they were dead in the water...

Re: Norrena leads Blue Jackets over Stars 3-2

Hitch held a "shootout contest" during practices and said the winners would go if they had a shootout come up. And true to word he went with the winners! He was quoted as saying "You know the GM is gonna need a rip cord when he sees this line up coming out for the shootout" Meaning McClaine would probably leap out of his press box to get after Hitch!! Classic stuff! Anyways he went with the winners: Chimera, Klesla, and Konopka!!!! I guess we can laugh about this now since they won, I can't imagine if they would have lost!!
