Trade deadline's fast approaching...any movers??

With the trade deadline coming up I am interested to here everyone's ideas on what, if any, moves should be made to improve this Jackets club??

My opinion stays the same that it has for most of the year...Fire McClaine..trade Foote and Carter....

Any takers??

They should shop forward Anson Carter and defenseman Bryan Berard for draft picks.

Re: Trade deadline's fast approaching...any movers??

I agree with Carter...but I am torn on moving Berard. I love the idea that we finally have a defenseman that can skate with and move the puck out of our own zone with regularity. He's a good defenseman cause he thinks like a forward so he can put himself in the right spot to move the puck out unlike Foote and Hainsey who consistently turn the puck over in our own zone. But see Hainsey's young and can learn and be taught to make better decisions who's going to tell Footer what to do? So he will continue to make those poor plays in the defensive zone and that's not even going into his weak blueline play in the offensive zone. A leader in the locker room is one thing (and an important thing) but when your play costs your team wins on the ice..I don't know is it worth it?? He takes bad penalties at the worst times, turns the puck over, tries to be TOO physical sometimes and takes himself out of position that usually ends up costing us..

I agree with cbuscru here, the CBJ are too thin on defensive talent to shop Berard. It might be beneficial to try and shop Foote to get youth in return, but Berard I think should be a mainstay on our defensive unit.
