Rostislav Klesla took out Blackhawk Ruutu with a low hit on Sept 22 and will be suspended for 2 games once the regular season starts, also fined $17,112. That makes him the first official suspended player this season.
Ruutu will be out for 4 weeks with a sprained ligament in left knee.
What about sending a guy out who does a dirty hit for the length of time it takes the injured player to get back on the ice? Two games vs. four weeks seems not reeeeeeally equal, you know?
