Wells inks one-year deal

Kip Wells signed a one-year deal with the Rockies Thursday. The contract is reportedly worth close to $3 million. Depending on what else the Rox do this offseason, Wells could end up starting or relieving in Colorado. Considering that he held a 6.27 ERA as a starter in 2007 and a 2.31 ERA in relief, it would be wise of the Rox to stick him in the bullpen.

Re: Wells inks one-year deal

And here, I thought it was David Wells.

Kip was a good pitcher for the Bucs at one time. Whether or not he can ever rediscover that again, who knows?

Re: Wells inks one-year deal

He is not a starter anymore. He just doesn't have what it takes. He will be fine as a reliever.
