Colorado Rockies Playoff Bound

The Rockies came from behind to beat the Padres, 9-8 in 13 innings and clinch the NL Wild Card.

They gave up two runs (Jorge Julio allowed a HR) in the 13th and trailed by two. Hoffman came in to pitch the 13th for the Padres but only got a single out. The Rockies fought back to win the game.

Matt Holliday was injured on the winning run, tagging from 3rd and sliding headfirst. He hit his face on the dirt and was a bit groggy afterwards. Interestingly, it looked as if Holliday didn't touch home plate but McCleland called him safe after a few moments of a delay.

Anyway, the Rockies travel to Philly to play in their first post-season since 1995.

Boy, how bout them Rockies. Left for dead during the season, they comeback to challenge for the Wild Card and eventually force the one game playoff. Then, they're down in the 13th with Hoffman coming in and you think, "that's it, it's over. It was a great run for the Rockies but it's over." And just as you say that, Holliday shows such incredible hustle and scores the winning run. Colorado's in the playoff, someone. Great story.

Yeah I thought it was over when in the 13th it was 8-6 Pads.

Anyway, more like Rockies are World Series bound.

Well, not positive about the World Series just yet - those Diamondbacks are looking might good as well.

How about the fact that, barring a major turnaround, it'll wind up being an all-NL West NLCS? Didn't see that one coming.

Re: Colorado Rockies Playoff Bound

I did.

If Rockies win the World Series I'll make.....give me a sec.....$330, YEY!!!

Sadly I put in my bet at the start of the playoffs with the Rockies at 15-1.

Las Vegas SUN: Jeff Haney on World Series odds that look out of whack

Oh damn, if only I had placed a bet a week ago! 75-1!!!! ( passes out )
