Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

The Rockies lead the Padres 4-2 in the 8th inning right now, and are threatening to increase their lead. The Padres have been winning a lot lately and are atop the NL Wild Card standings.

Should Colorado retain the lead tonight, the W.C. standings would look like this:

Padres 85-69 --
Phillies 85-70 0.5
Rockies 83-72 2.5
Braves 81-74 4.5

Pretty close as we enter the last week of the season.

Cool Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

I don't see it happening for the Rockies. If they were chasing one team, maybe but it will be close to impossible to overtake SD AND Philly

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

Amazing, Colorado beat San Diego again today and are on a 7 game winning streak. With the Padres and Phillies both losing Sunday, the Rockies are just 2.5 gmaes out of the wild card.

Make that an 8 game winning streak and only 1.5 games out of the wild card.

thanks for the corrections

Amazing how the Rockies have been able to put together this win streak by dominating the Dodgers and taking care of the Padres.

But is it too little, too late? They're red hot but they're running out of time.

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

There's seven games left. They're only 1.5 games out of the playoff spot with two teams to leapfrog.

It's possible.

But 2 in the loss column...and a tough schedule: 3 at LA and 3 at Arizona.

SD's schedule: 3 at SF, 3 at Milwaukee

The Phillies have the easiest schedule: 3 vs. Atlanta and 3 vs. Washington.

I could happen, but I give it a 10% chance.

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

I actually want the Rockies to get in, would be fun to watch.

They've won 8 straight.

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

The Padres are losing right now, 7-3 in the 4th versus San Francisco.

If they lose this game, the Padres will only be 1 game out of the wild card (and the Phillies would be tied with San Diego).

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

Rockies lead Dodgers, 2-0 in the 4th.

Padres losing to San Fran, 4-0 in the 4th.

If these scores keep up, it means there would be a three team tie in the NL Wild Card between the Phillies, Padres and Rockies. The Braves would only be 2 games behind them.

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

The Padres rallied, so the Rockies (and Phillies) are still a game back. This is clearly going to be a race all the way to the finish.

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

Amazing...the Rockies have surpassed the Phillies in the wild card race. The Rockies remain just one game out of the wild card spot.

LOL, no disrespect to them but I think if Colorado got in, the rest of the league would be ecstatic (although maybe not since they're red hot...the Padres are hurting).

Re: Rockies Still in Wild Card Race

I was watching PTI today and Tony & Mike didn't even mention Colorado, only San Deigo and Philadelphia, now I REALLY want the Rockies to get in lol.

What an egregious oversight on their parts. Clearly Colorado is still in the thick of things here. How could they not mention them?
