Matt Holliday is easily the Colorado Rockies' best player right now, so it's no surprise that fans would be concerned about his future with the ballclub. Unfortunately, it's not looking good - Holliday has hired Scott Boras to be his agent, and according to the Denver Post, "he will be eligible for free agency after the 2009 season, leaving the Rockies with the option of going year to year on contracts - he should jump to $7 million next season - or attempt to secure a long- term extension. There have been no talks about a multiyear deal since Holliday retained Boras." So is there any hope the Rockies can re-sign this kid?

Probably not. Boras should be bale to get Holliday as much money as he wants on the open market. He's probably the best player nobody knows about. The problem he could face though is whether some teams feel he's good b/c of Coors Field.
