| Brian Fuentes loses closer job Earlier this week, Brian Fuentes of the Colorado Rockies was named to the All-Star Game. Today, he officially lost his closer job. According to the Associated Press, Fuentes is "the first closer in nearly 20 years to blow four straight save chances... Fuentes saw his ERA climb from 1.89 to 4.17 during his slide. His six blown saves on the season were tied for the most in baseball." Ironically, though, he's still tops among all left-handed pitchers in saves this season. Funny, isn't it? |
