| Rockies starting pitching woes The Colorado Rockies starting pitching is struggling right now, and the rest of the team is following suit.
According to the Rocky Mountain News, "Rodrigo Lopez was roughed up by the Chicago Cubs in the Rockies' 8-5 loss at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night, extending Colorado's longest losing streak of the season to five games and completing the stumble by the Rockies starters... The Rockies have been outscored 11-2 in the first inning of the five-game losing streak. They have allowed 43 runs total. A pitching staff that had a 1.91 ERA in winning nine of 11 on the road during the winning streak has an 8.14 ERA the past five games, and the rotation not only has a 10.66 ERA but is averaging only five innings a start... There hasn't been a starter last more than six innings, and none has allowed fewer than five earned runs."
Colorado wound up getting swept by the Cubs on Wednesday. So why has their rotation, which looked so good for a while, suddenly gotten so bad?
