| De La Rosa Ruled Out for Phillies Opener in Playoffs. Rockies' De La Rosa out; Game 1 lineup set for NLDS By Troy E. Renck and Patrick Saunders The Denver Post Posted: 10/06/2009 09:47:19 PM MDT Updated: 10/06/2009 09:47:38 PM MDT Jim Tracy laughs with Todd Helton and Jason Giambi during batting practice Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. (John Leyba, The Denver Post) PHILADELPHIA — Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa, a 16-game winner during the regular season, has been ruled out of the National League Division Series because of his left groin strain. De La Rosa was scheduled to throw here today to see if he could start Game 3, but that session was canceled after the Rockies' medical staff decided his injury had not improved. "Jorge will not be part of the division series," Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. "Our medical people have been working with him. The injury has stayed about the same. If we are fortunate enough to move beyond this round, there's a possibility Jorge would be available (later)." De La Rosa had a major-league leading 16 wins after June 1 after starting the season slowly with six opening losses. He finished 16-9 with a 4.38 ERA.
