Dan Hawkins received the third commitment to Colorado's 2009 recruiting class on Wednesday.

Clark Evans, a 6-foot-5 quarterback from Los Alamitos, Calif., has given a verbal commitment to the Buffs according to scout.com.

Evans threw for more than 2,000 yards and rushed for almost a 1,000 as a junior. Scout.com ranks the dual-threat signal-caller as the No. 34 quarterback in the country and a three-star recruit.

Before committing to Colorado, Evans also received offers from Kansas State, Arizona, Boise State and San Diego State.

Great recruiting update Scott! Hawkins is doing a heck of a job trying to turn around a program that was a total mess just a few years ago. It all starts with recruiting and have seen massive improvement in the last two years alone with the Buffaloes picking up the top RB in the nation last year. Evans is just another plus to Hawkin's progress in recruiting and I am sure will make a great QB at some point.
