Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn is close to finalizing agreements with West Virginia, Florida State and Big 12 Conference television partners to change the dates of two football games next fall and have both televised nationally on ESPN.
The plan would move the Buffs' home game against West Virginia from Sept. 27 to Thursday night Sept. 18, giving the Buffs the opportunity to play the Mountaineers on national television. The CU road game against Florida State will be moved to a neutral site in Jacksonville and instead of being played on Sept. 20, it would be moved to Sept. 27.
The selling points on the Colorado side of the deal are the opportunities for national exposure and the chance to create a few more days of rest and preparation between those games. If ESPN does not agree to televise the West Virginia game, it would be moved to either Sept. 13 or Sept. 20. Both dates are Saturdays.
