Buffaloes vs. Colorado State

Any way you slice it, starting off with a rivalry game like this will be a lot of fun. Can't say I know a ton about either squad, but I am interested in seeing how the coach's son, Cody Hawkins, will fair in his first start as the CU quarterback. Who do you guys like in this one?

Re: Buffaloes vs. Colorado State

The Buffaloes pull it out, 31-28, on a 35-yard field goal by Kevin Eberhart in overtime.

According to the Associated Press, "Freshman Cody Hawkins, son of Colorado coach Dan Hawkins, who has never lost a game in 60 starts dating back to youth leagues, completed 18 of 31 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns and one interception... Senior Kyle Bell returned to the backfield for the Rams after missing last season with a knee injury and rushed a career-high 40 times for 135 yards and a touchdown, and Hanie (20-of-27) threw three touchdown passes to tight end Kory Sperry and wasn't picked off until his final pass of the afternoon."
