Colorado Avalanche forwards Ryan Smyth and Marek Svatos are both out indefinitely as a result of Saturday's game against the Kings.

According to the Associated Press, "Smyth was hurt soon after scoring his second goal of the game when Los Angeles defenseman Jack Johnson checked him into a padded partition at the end of the Avalanche bench. He lay motionless on the ice for several minutes but was walking before he was sent to a hospital for a CT scan. He was released from the hospital Saturday night... Svatos, who had an assist, hurt his right knee when he collided awkwardly with the boards in the corner of the Kings’ zone."

This Smyth thing is maddening. he's had a tough season re: injuries and now this dirty play. This makes me mad - I hope this play is being reviewed.

Oh man I was in my room, and my brother in law calls me and says, "Whoa, Ryan Smith is out!!!", and I couldn't get their in time. Not only Ryan was motionless, but so was my brother and ME when we saw the replays. Right in his head, and THWACK!!! He was out cold on the ice. Just hope he is alright right now.
